Caren Kershner has been involved in the industrial hemp movement since its inception in Colorado. After retiring from a successful science teaching career, she now focuses her energies on sharing information about the uses and benefits of hemp. In addition to working with several farmers across the state, she has carried out small scale research and kept extensive records on the performance of an assortment of hemp cultivars from 2013-present. Much of her research focuses on reducing cross-pollination between cannabis species, since both hemp and medical marijuana are legal in several states. She administers the Colorado Industrial Hemp Coalition Facebook page, an educational and cooperative forum for all things hemp, and is a regular contributor to hemp events around the southwest.
